Wiscasset Art Walk Season Opens on Thursday, June 28

Guest Artists and Community Participants Add to Village Activities

WISCASSET, MAINE– The first Wiscasset Art Walk of the 2018 season, on Thursday, June 28, 5-8pm, is known by regulars as the season’s Love Fest event. Balmy weather is firmly ensconced, the bulk of garden work is done, and, for many, this is the community’s first social event that celebrates the abundant riches of a summer in Midcoast Maine!

Wiscasset Art Walk invites local residents and visitors from away to stroll the Village center and enjoy an evening in this historical riverfront gem.  Walk through the open doors of artist-owned galleries, one-of-a-kind specialty shops, and exquisite antique venues. Enjoy good eating at the lobster shacks, wine tasting at Treats, and munching on specialty items from food trucks.  Open your ears to the musical delights in galleries and on sidewalks.  And peruse the offerings of our community participants throughout the season: from fresh flowers to student art and crafts, henna artistry, performers, and more.

The historical context of this 18thcentury ship building community is also on display through complimentary tours at Historic New England’s Nickels-Sortwell House and Wiscasset’s self-guided Museum in the Streets, now with a new app.  Park your car and enjoy an evening of unexpected discoveries.
