Guest Artists on Hand to Talk About Art and Travels

WISCASSET, MAINE – New galleries in Wiscasset Village prepare to wow visitors with their stunning offerings during the Wiscasset Art Walk on Thursday, July 28, from 5-8pm.  60 Main Art & Antiques is exhibiting the Maine lighthouse photographs of Richard Berks and the historically accurate naval paintings by English artist John Bentham Dinsdale.  James L. Kochan Fine Art & Antiques specializes in antique marine paintings.  “This is museum quality,” said one awed guest when the gallery opened last month.  And a spectacular pop-up exhibit will welcome guests at Midcoast Conservancy with the paintings of Barbara Bean, Ed McCartan, and Ann Slocum, accompanied by the ceramic art of Jackie Melissas.

Ooh la la!  Don your beret, pocket your favorite French novel, and take une marche to Marston House, 101 Main St., during the July 28 Wiscasset Art Walk, for an Old World marketplace from 5-8pm. 

WISCASSET, MAINE – The Village of Wiscasset’s first Art Walk of the 2016 season is on Thursday, June 30, from 5-8pm.  Galleries, studios, and shops in the Village welcome local residents and visitors from away to enjoy the evening’s abundance of sights, sounds, and tastes!  The Nickels-Sortwell House, owned by Historic New England, and Wiscasset’s self-guided Museum in the Streets, provide a glimpse of an historical past when the Village was a proud shipbuilding community.

Season Finale on September 24, 2015

Say adieu to summer and welcome the gentler autumn season with a stroll through beautiful and historical Wiscasset Village during the Wiscasset Art Walk on Thursday, September 24, 2015, 5-8pm. Park your car and enjoy visiting exquisite galleries and stunning shops. Antique your way through town, watch artisan demos, sip wines, and explore the local history.

The sidewalks of the Village will be pulsing with music and dance during the Wiscasset Art Walk on Thursday, August 27, 5-8pm. Boston’s Luminarium Dance Co. will entertain visitors with their spontaneous dance moves, playfulness, and theatricality while acclaimed strolling sidewalk musicians, Married with Chitlins, play their own versions of traditional country tunes.

Specialty Shops Offer the Exotic and Unexpected, July 30, 2015

The Wiscasset Art Walk on July 30, 5-8pm, is an excellent time to treat yourself to a retail adventure. The art in Wiscasset’s artist-owned galleries is splendid. The variety of delicious eating venues in the Village center is awesome. But have you shopped the shops? Wiscasset Village is home to a collection of unique, beautiful, and sometimes quirky storefronts, each expressing the interests and tastes of the owner.

Celebrations Open the 2015 Season

Visibility Grant to Help with Promotion

In a show of support for the arts in and around the Wiscasset community, the Maine Arts Commission recently awarded a Visibility Grant to support the Wiscasset Art Walk (WAW) which had its inaugural year in 2013.

WAW 2014 Closes with Live Music Jam

Although the Wiscasset Art Walk 2014 season is coming to a close, new exhibits and demos are planned to delight, inspire, and challenge visitors from near and far during the September 25 event, from 5-8pm. Spend the evening strolling Wiscasset Village’s galleries, unique shops, and historical sites, and be sure to stop at Mac’s Place at the end of the evening for a joyous musical event to close the season.
